Why Stay At Home Moms Still Need To Plan Some Alone Time
I am sure you’ve heard the phrase, You can’t pour from an empty cup. And it is absolutely true. As Stay At Home Moms we are spread thin. We are chefs, nurses, chauffeurs, peacemakers and so much more. Not to mention we have to maintain the house and pay attention to our spouse from time to time. If you add that up it takes up a full day of tantrums, diapers, cleaning and more. But where is the time for us?
Stay at home mom burn out is real!
That’s why it is so important to set some time aside for yourself. I know that seems impossible but if you have a spouse or partner utilize their help. I am so lucky that K understands the importance of autonomy as a Stay at home mom and is always offering me time to myself. If you are a single parent I would highly recommend someone you trust, maybe a good friend or a family member. anything to allow you some time for yourself.

But remember, cleaning without interruption, showering and eating a hot meal does not count. Although it may feel like it because it happens so rarely those are basic human needs. So yes enjoy your extra hot shower or finally get that laundry done but please do not count that as Self Care! You Deserve so much more than that.
Trust me, I know it’s hard, and not to mention the mom guilt is real. But it is necessary to have alone to be a good mom there’s no doubt about it. Taking care of ourselves will allow us to fully take care of others. The family thrives when you thrive. So Make sure to set that time aside daily, weekly, yearly for yourself.
