Avengers: End Game Review

Avengers: End Game Review from someone who isn’t big on Superhero Movies

Avengers: End Game Blew me away. I have never been one for Superhero movies, except Superman but even that was pushing it. So when my sister in law came over one day for a sleepover and wanted to watch Infinity Wars I wasn’t too into it. But, we watched it anyway because you can’t say no to her, and I was hooked.

I Wanted More

I was so impressed by the acting, the cinematography, and the story line that I truly could not get over it.  My love for Marvel was only recently born, I am so glad to be even a band-wagoner on this fandom.

After watching Infinity Wars I was alert on what Marvel was putting out next. We watched Captain Marvel and I couldn’t believe how much I loved it. I mean that movie spells out Women Power and I am HERE.FOR.IT. Brie Larson was incredible and that part when she figured out her potential…ooooof, I have goosebumps just thinking about it.

I wanted more. So naturally we marathoned as many Marvel movies as we could humanly fit in before watching End Game, while still within the universally  agreed-upon “no spoiler” time frame. (Which, PS, we as a nation/world/general human race can’t agree on anything but the Russo brothers casually put a block-out window on spoilers and everyone was just like “yeah for sure” and I won’t forget how incredible that was.)

Also, the last-ditch-effort of a catch-up marathon included Black Panther (on Netflix)…wow. That one blew me away.

Spoiler Free Review

Okay, okay let’s talk about End Game!

I’m going to try my best not to ruin anything or give out spoilers so this might be a short review… really this is just my praise and recommendation to get out and see this movie and be a part of the history this franchise is making. Maybe there will be another post after a while because there are some points I want to speak on that are just too amazing to ignore.

I laughed, I gasped and I cried my eyes out

From beginning to end the movie takes you on a very intense emotional roller coaster. VERY.INTENSE. Like, I literally laughed/cried/ugly cried. I was constantly on the edge of my seat! There were times when I had to preimptivey stop myself from shouting HELL YEA! I am ashamed to admit that (despite my best dehydration efforts) I did get up to pee once… but I think I set a record for time from seat exit to return. So for my small bladder readers- go to the restroom when the Avengers are in the talking/prep portion. Once they seem battle ready- risk the UTI and stay put. (Jk be healthy) But really… you truly do not want to miss a second.

Guys… this is the movie of the year and the Russo Brothers did a fantastic job in honoring each character. And this is coming from someone who typically likes my Pixar feel-good animated movies and chick-flick/RomComs. I know the hardcore fans will have their comments about what they liked or didn’t like and possibly pick apart every little detail. No matter where you fall on the fandom spectrum- it is definitely for everyone!

Tips before watching Avengers: End Game

  • Empty your bladder before going in and try not to drink too many liquids during the movie.
  • Go with friends! We took both of my SIL’s and it was such a great experience to be able to talk about all our favorite parts of the film.
  • Go to a fancy theater with recliner chairs. You’ll definitely need something comfortable for a 3 hour movie. You’ll thank me later.
  • If you’re new to this universe, watch a few Marvel movies beforehand so you can understand a few references. Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-man Homecoming & Iron Man are the ones I would recommend. But definitely go back and watch them all.
  • Go eat a cheeseburger afterwards. You’ll understand.
  • Have Fun! This is such a great time in Disney/Marvel movie history.
  • Don’t Spoil the End Game. I know it’s been out a week, but there are some people who still haven’t seen it! Don’t ruin it for them.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve seen it or plan to see it!

I love you 3000

XoXo, Carolina
