I was provided with an advanced screening from Disney for this review. All opinions are my own.
Believe In Your Own Fairytale
Disney+ does it again with a magical and original film just in time for the Holidays. Disney’s Godmothered is enchanting in it’s own way and will help you realize all happy endings are different and special. It had just the right amount of holiday magic with a beautiful reminder that love is all around us. Disney’s Godmothered premieres on Disney+ December4th, 2020, I promise you won’t want to miss it.

My Review of Disney’s Godmothered
I loved Disney’s Godmothered! I love a good holiday movie that will get me right in the feels and Godmothered did that for me. There was a lot of fun and adventure but most importantly we learn that believing in ourselves will get us far! Eleanor (Jillian Bell) Is set on wanting to prove that people still need fairy godmothers. She goes on an amazing adventure to help a little girl find her happily ever after.
But to her surprise not only is that little girl an adult now but she is definitely not interested in what Eleanor has to offer. Mackenzie (Isla FIsher) is a single mother who is only focused on work and her family. So it takes some convincing to even try to get her to listen to Eleanor. The film takes us on an incredible journey of the two hilarious and incredibly talented actresses who bring a modern day fairy tale.
As a mom I think I can speak for most moms when I say we all find ourselves needing a little bit of help finding that extra bit of magic. We are always looking to help and do for others that sometimes we forget to put ourselves first. The message of believing in yourself and knowing you are capable of anything beyond everyone’s doubts really hit home. Sometimes I find myself doubting what I can do. But Eleanors persistence is one I admired a lot throughout the film.
Importance of Representation
I also thought it was great the new direction of the different types of families sharing these stories. A love between siblings, parents and children, and even some LGBTQ representation. It is important to share these different and magical types of families because we are all different and magical. Sometimes our happily ever after isn’t about finding our true love or our Prince. Sometimes our Happily Ever is right in front of us.

My Final Thoughts
Disney’s Godmothered was magical and hilarious and everything we need right now! Jillian Bell is fantastic as Eleanor and did a great job adding her own comedic flair without losing the Disney touch. The overall cast was absolutely hilarious. I loved Isla FIsher and was interested in seeing how she’d do and she exceeded all my expectations. I loved Utkarsh Ambudkar, he was perfect in his role but he’s great in everything. Honestly you can’t go wrong with this cast.
Synopsis
Set at Christmas time, “Godmothered” is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training (Jillian Bell) who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers. Finding a mislaid letter from a 10-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom (Isla Fisher) working at a news station in Boston. Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of “Happily Ever After,” but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not.
