What is Firefly Lane about?

Firefly Lane is about two best friends who go through everything together. The story goes back 30 years of friendship mixed with drama, heartache, marriage and more. Firefly Lane is deep but funny and allows you to feel all the different decades in one shot. They way they shot this movie and interwind every decade into one story is incredible.

My thoughts

First and foremost, Firefly Lane is not a family friendly show. This is definitely a bedtime type show but it’s absolutely needed after watching animated dinosaurs all day. I enjoyed Firefly Lane a lot. There were some slow parts but for a season with 10 episodes I feel like that is inevitable. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have some hard hitting stuff. There are twist and turns along the way and as the show goes on the more deeper and dramatic it gets.

We learn about Tully (Katherine heigl) and how she became to be who she is as a tv host. we learn a lot about her complicated past and it’s interesting to see if she will end up better off than her upbringing. On the other hand we have her best friend Kate (Sarah Chakle) who tends to be in the shadow of her best friend. But one thing we learn is that these two are inseparable. We learn more about how their friendship became to be and how strong it gets throughout the years.

This show is about friendship but along the way they hit on hard subjects and some can be triggering. They touch on rape, miscarriages and divorce. I think this is important to share just to not surprise you. Some of these topics can be tough to just be thrown into and I personally appreciate a heads up.

Final Thoughts about Firefly Lane

It’s a beautiful show and one I didn’t know what to expect. it touches on the hard topics of life especially as an adult and as parents. It has it’s hard moments, moments of tears and laughter and moments of “OMG what’s going to happen next?” It leaves you on a slight cliffhanger each episode but if you are anything like me you just can binge the whole season so you know exactly what to expect. I hope you enjoy this series and make it a fun virtual girls night with your best girlfriends.

You can catch Firefly Lane streaming on Netflix February 3rd.
