Thank you to Lionsgate for providing me with a screener for this review. All opinions are my own.

The Perfect Movie For Parents Night Out

I know with the world the way it is right now it’s hard to go out and do something together. It seems like the time we have is so short and constantly feels like we can’t keep up. That’s when you know you need a date night and do I have the movie for you! I had the chance of screening Wander Darkly recently and omgosh it was amazing! This movie is everything you want in a movie, but make sure to leave the kiddos at home or if you watch it digital or on Demand be sure to wait until bedtime.

My Thoughts on Wander Darkly

Wander Darkly is a drama/thriller that keeps you at the edge of your seat literally the entire movie! I am pretty good at predicting endings and this one I did not see coming. It has just enough twists and turns to keep you hooked without losing the story. It’s definitely one of those movies you have to watch twice. Once to obviously get the idea of the story and get to know the characters but there is just a lot that goes on within the story that you have to watch it a second time.

I love a movie that gets you thinking and placing puzzle pieces together as you go. This was that kind of movie and I loved it. It had just the right amount of thrill and suspense but without being scary. There were a few scenes, like the accident, that was a little hard to watch, so if you have ever had anything like that happen to you definitely be aware. But they did a good job in keeping you hooked without making you jump in your seat everytime.

The Main Characters

Sienna Miller, who plays Adrienne, Is amazing. Admittedly This is the first movie I have seen of hers but it made me a fan! Her performance was gut wrenching and really made you feel what she was feeling. She takes you on a journey of emotions through each scene and there was one scene that really did it for me!

Diego Luna, who plays Matteo, is of course amazing! I have been a huge fan of his forever and of course I have to support a fellow Mexicano! I have to say I am obsessed with Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights because of him. So when I saw he was also in this movie I was stoked! He was amazing in every way.

My Final Thoughts on Wander Darkly

Go watch it! It’s definitely a movie that will make you want to hug your partner after and is the perfect movie to watch on date night. As soon as the movie was over I told my spouse I could easily watch it again and again. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a thriller that I liked without scaring me, which doesn’t make me want to watch it again. So I am so excited for Wander Darkly. I also loved the representation in a leading role. Having Diego Luna in it made it all that much more special because his character wasn’t revolved around his race. Sure there were a few scenes that embraced the Mexican Culture but that’s just because it’s who he was but not all he was. Overall I absolutely loved this movie and I am so excited for you to watch it!

You Can catch Wander Darkly in Select Theaters, Digital, On Demand on December 11th.
